Storcks (1839-1922) ledelse. Han ville genskabe den sjældne dobbeltkirkes oprindelige form.<br /> <br /> Bygningens fundament blev forstærket, og murene i kirkens skib og kor blev forhøjet. Overkirken blev bygget, så den i plan, opbygning og målforhold ret nøje svarer til underkirken. De indre murflader med kridtsten, de ydre med røde munkesten, og åbningen mellem de to kirkerum blev genskabt. Skibet blev udstyret med seks vinduer i hver langside, fordelt med tre på hver etage. <br /> <br /> Også den vindeltrappe, som stormanden og hans familie anvendte i 1200-tallet, blev rekonstrueret.
